There is nothing in the caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly.
I’m often attracted to simple card layouts and have a habit of spending more hours than I should on Pinterest looking for all sorts of ideas. During one of my scouring’s, I came across a simple and elegant layout created by HandStampStyle.com using Stampin’ Up! butterfly punches and some designer paper. I had saved it, knowing one day I would want to recreate the idea. So, tonight’s cards are inspired and CASE’d from HandStampStyle.com. Of course, I hate to just CASE (copy and share everything) the card without adding a little twist of my own, so I added some ribbon and buttons to my card gift set, and this is what I ended up creating.
With just one sheet of 12×12 designer paper from the Sell A Bration Best Year Ever packet, add the Best Year Ever ribbon and buttons and viola you have yourself a cute gift set to present to someone.
My greetings on this set include a “thinking of you”, a belated birthday wish and “thank you”. I haven’t decided if I’m going to make a box out of cardstock to package them or if I will divide them into two gifts and package them in a decorated glassine bag. So many decisions!!
And, of course…you can’t forget the inside of the card. It has to be as pretty as the outside. Here’s an example of one of the ways I decorated the inside of the card.
Supply List ~ I used various Stampin’ Up! and non SU stamps for my greetings; Cardstock: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Pumpkin Pie and Best Year Ever DSP; Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black; Accessories: Best Year Ever buttons and ribbon, white floss, rhinestones, stampin’ dimensionals, glue dots, rhinestones, Elegant Butterfly and Itty Bitty Butterfly punches.
What are you waiting for? Dust off one of those old pins you created months ago, and get busy creating something fun. You’ll be glad you did!
